The Ritz experience
As you might have noticed I’m not a luxury traveler, I’m not that kind of person who wants to spend hundreds of $$ for at hotel stay – nor can I afford it. However, when traveling in Asia you get tempted to try out the life of a luxury traveler as the prices are more reasonable – and that’s what we did in Indonesia.
We stayed at Sheraton, Marriott and The Ritz – three very well known hotel chains and yet very different.
What I want to share with you in this post is The Ritz experience as this was beyond my expectation.
Never in a million years have I imagined myself staying at the 5-star-hotel chain, The Ritz, which is one of the world’s most prestigious and best known hotels. The reason being; it’s way too expensive! If you want a night at The Ritz London, the cheapest room will cost you around € 1,000. The closest I’ve been to The Ritz is having the afternoon tea experience, which by the way is extraordinary.
When we first arrived to Jakarta we did some sightseeing. Then we decided to get a manicure and as we couldn’t find a place, we thought that some of the big hotel chains might offer it, so we decided to stop by The Ritz. They did have a salon but unfortunately they didn’t have time for us at that very moment so they recommended a Nail Salon nearby. To our surprise they insisted to drop us off at the mall, so we got a private shuttle service – what a service. After this experience we wanted to check out the rates for a stay as we had to book yet another night when returning to Jakarta. To our surprise, the cost for one night was €300, divided into three = €100 which is 10 times less than the price in London, so we decided to book a night on the way back home.
The Ritz experience
As soon as we arrived to the hotel, everything was already set. We were escorted to the room right away, which is also where we checked-in – great service! The room was as everything else, just amazing. Before going to bed, we had to try out the in-room dinning – you sure get what you pay for!
The Ritz Spa
Unfortunately, my friends had to leave me one day before my departure so I decided to spend the day on relaxation. I woke up early in the morning; worked out for an hour followed by a swim in the pool. After my lunch I decided to treat myself with an 1,5 hour spa treatment – absolutely recommendable! The spa area at the Ritz as a whole is extraordinary; you can use the jacuzzi and the spa lounge afterwards which I did and I enjoyed every bit of it!
